Next stop: The Baltic Sea. We only stayed for one night which was actually okay with me, as there wasn’t too much to do. The sea was rather cold, full of algae and larded with jellyfish. However, I wouldn’t have wanted to skip that day because that would have meant missing a walk along the beach and an absolutely stunning sunset. This might sound cheesy, but it really reminded me that there is so much left to discover on this planet. Sitting alone between the trees, hearing the waves ever so lightly hit the beach and the distant laughing of others while witnessing the sun disappear behind the fiery clouds left me feeling at peace and was strangely fulfilling. I also spotted an old couple sitting arm in arm on a bench watching the sunset – a beautifully hopeful sight.
